Top-dressed with well-rotted manure because the mini-orchard was planted in poor soil and modern thinking is not to remediate the planting hole which can lead to root binding but to top feed instead.

What you can do on the allotment in your lunch-break

I meet quite a few people who say they don’t have time for an allotment – of course it’s easier once you have a plot in good order, but there’s still a lot you can do in a lunch-break or just one hour. Here’s today’s completed tasks:
